In 2018, we can all agree there are many benefits of having a website. After all, most businesses have one.

Websites are essential for putting your company on the (digital) map. They are also a much cheaper way to advertise, rather than using television, radio and print.

But you already knew all that.

What you really want to know are the reasons why you should redesign your existing website.

You can use this as a checklist, to see if you qualify and if you feel the reasons would benefit you too.

“Media Dino created a website for my new training school. I absolutely love it! They did everything, from building it, to creating the images and writing all the content.”

Responsive web design: how responsive is your website?

How old is your website? When did you originally sign? your current web design?

If your website is say 5-10 years old, it could well be that it isn’t responsive.

What exactly does responsive mean? It means that your website adapts, so it is both visually pleasing and functional across all devices, such as  a desktop computer, laptop, tablet and mobile device.

When you consider the majority of the public access websites from their mobile hand-held device, it makes sense that your website is responsive. In fact, it’s essential.

Take a look at your website from your mobile phone, does it work? Does it still look good? If your images have squashed, or titles are all over the place, buttons don’t work and so on. You need to have your website redesigned, for a much more modern and functional appication.

Does your website look dated next to your competitors?

When was the last time you looked at your competitors website? This morning? An hour ago? How does their website compare to yours?

We’ve worked with companies who work within a very “old school” industry when it comes to websites. That being said, there are always a handful of pioneers who have invested in a bespoke, well-designed and responsive website. We applaud these companies for having the vision to see the benefits they can yield from a well-designed website.

Now imagine, you have a very old website, or a website you designed yourself… Better yet, imagine a potential customer has your website and your competitors website open at the same time.

You may be a bigger and better company with more experience, but your website suggests otherwise.

You would never know that a potential customer clicked off your website in favour of your competitors. Is it worth losing customers over an old, out-dated website?

Web design will improve your search-engine rankings

How do elevate your website to the top of search engines, so potential customers can find your website? SEO, right? By definition, Search Engine Optimisation is exactly what you need to do, but how will you optimise your website to perform well on search engines?

There are a number of ways to improve your ranking. Using the correct key words, long tail key words, social media marketing, back links, etc etc etc.

But how will web design help your search engine ranking?

Firstly, if you have an aesthetically pleasing, functional website that is easy to navigate, your bounce rate will decrease. Meaning website visitors are spending more time on your website before leaving. Google will reward you for this. It shows google that your website is a quality site and not a spammy site.

Web design will improve your conversion rate

Whether you’re aiming to increase sales on your Ecommerce website, or increase the number of visitors that click the “contact us” button, redesigning your website will help with this goal.

You stand a much higher chance of getting your visitors to convert to paying customers or leads if your website is designed with conversions in mind.

Look at your current website, what would a typical customer journey look like? Is it simple to find the information you need, the product you need, even where you’re based and how to contact you?
